HONOLULU, HI, USA, June 25, 2021 /EINPresswire.com/ – On June 11, 2021, the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), the nation’s leading professional organization serving the communications community, presented its 2021 Silver Anvil Awards. . 4Front Branding & Defense Media Activity in tandem were honored with a Silver Anvil Award for the work they did to promote the 75th Commemoration of the End of WWII. The award category was Events and Celebrations, Over Seven Days, Government.

The ceremonies were first held in Washington DC on May 8, 2021, marking Victory Day, and culminated in Hawaii on September 2, 2021 on the Battleship Missouri Memorial fantail, the very ship that, on September 2, 1945 , in Tokyo Bay, General Douglas MacArthur, Admiral Chester Nimitz and representatives of the Allied forces accepted the official surrender of Japan, to end the bloodiest war in history.

The public relations efforts were large and extensive, including local, national and international with particular attention to military veterans and those currently serving. To increase attention, WWII veterans were interviewed and their stories told in news segments, newspapers, special programs, online on social media and on the dedicated website, 75thwwiicommemoration .org

Due to COVID-19, most scheduled in-person events have been canceled. This meant that more efforts were needed to feature virtually so many commemorative events. The programming replaced the live events in Washington DC which featured the stories of the greater generation and Warbird flyovers of World War II. In Hawaii, while the remembrance ceremony was primarily reserved for local veterans, the press, patriotic entertainment, and key speakers, the full ceremony was presented via a real-time video link or via a link. A Legacy of Peace flypast played a central role in the end of World War II. Powerful video with vintage footage from the war kicked off our 75th WWII commemoration ceremony, followed by a true fly-by of WWII warbirds over the Battleship Missouri Memorial and Pearl Harbor, then a Pass In Review by the USS Michael Murphy. There were tributes to salute and honor the 12 WWII veterans in Hawaii in attendance, as well as WWII veterans locally and outside of Hawaii who had planned and hoped to attend. Over the past few days, Honolulu audiences have been able to experience the Warbirds of World War II during peace air parades over much of the island of Oahu.
