Couple found by gunshot in newspaper office: North Carolina Police

A missing couple were found shot dead in a newspaper office in North Carolina on Friday, police said.

Officers from the Newton Police Department and assistants from the Catawba County Sheriff’s Office on Friday responded to calls regarding the two missing persons, Cindy Hull, 55, and Larry Brigham, 58, who they said were as a couple, WJZY reported. .

They were following the tracks around 11 p.m. when they found their cars parked outside The Observer News Enterprise on North College Avenue in Newton, police said, according to WBTV.

Inside the business, police said they found Hull and Brigham dead from gunshot wounds, WBTV reported.

“This is a tragic situation and our prayers go out to the Hull and Brigham families,” Newton Police Chief Vidal Sipe said, according to the WSOC. “We also want the public to know that this is an isolated incident and that there are no more threats to the community.”

Officials did not mention an arrest and “there is no mention of homicide yet,” WJZY reported.

Newton is about 40 miles northwest of Charlotte.
